Five years ago, when I started this blog, my first post in 2010 was about my great X 5 grandfather, known to many as GEORGE THOMAS FRAZIER, but who only appears in all records that I have found so far as THOMAS FRAZIER. According to family oral histories, he married MARY PUGH, who I have never been able to trace, or verify in records. Many (but not all) of their children & descendants became Quakers, and many descendants are still Quaker, to this day.
Since 2010, I have tested with all three companies offering autosomal DNA tests: 23andMe, Family Tree DNA, and Ancestry.com. Descendants of THOMAS FRAZIER & MARY PUGH are highly represented in my list of DNA Relatives from all three companies.
This may be because colonial era members of the FRAZIER family were literate, and later generations had both a strong oral and written tradition of family history. And the Quakers kept good, detailed records. So many descendants of this couple have a clear idea of how they descend from them.
From the beginning, I have kept a personal database of all my DNA matches from all three companies. Only recently have I been able to pinpoint specific locations on my chromosomes that "belong" to specific ancestors.
On Chromosome 15, I have a group of 20 DNA Relatives who, for the most part, match both me, my brother & each other in a rather spectacular way. Eight of these DNA Relatives (nine including me) are known descendants of THOMAS FRAZIER & MARY PUGH. Those marked in green are from 23andMe and nearly all match each other on same location; those marked in purple are from Family Tree DNA & nearly all match each other on same location. For privacy's sake, I have slightly altered some of the names in this list:

(My formatting did not work perfectly, but you get the idea).
So it appears from the data so far that the area on Chromosome 15 from 28000000 to 67000000 relates to my great X 5 ancestors, THOMAS FRAZIER & MARY PUGH. Which one was the actual source of the shared DNA? Hard to say--but so far no other matches have shown up that connect only with MARY PUGH.

I have not yet been able to establish contact with all members of this group of descendants; some whom I have contacted have no idea how they are related to THOMAS FRAZIER & MARY PUGH.
I do have other DNA matches with the FRAZIER family on other Chromosomes. But none are as clear or as numerous as on this portion of Chromosome 15.
Have a great day!
Betty

Betty, I am related to aka George Thomas Frazier by way of Thomas N., David, John C., Joseph H.B, and then Clara Jane Frazier who married William A. Stidfole.
I found something interesting on the 1790 Federal Census...
Frasher, Francis....1....3....1
Frasher, Thomas.....2....2....2
Frasher, George.....2....6....4
Could this be a way through our brick wall?
I too have my dna on 23andme if you would like to check it out. Yvonne J. LaRusso
I would like to discuss what I found and see if we have a dna match.
My email is larusso@att.net. I don't use my google account much, so send any response to my .net account.
Happy hunting,
Yvonne
